Lazio – Fiorentina
Two in-form sides, each battling to break into the top-three, collide in what ought to be the game of the weekend. Lazio sit one point ahead of Fiorentina in fourth place, and have won three straight in the league, but Fiorentina are unbeaten in eight and became the first team in almost two years to win away to Juventus when they prevailed in their Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg against the champions on Thursday.
The man of the moment for the visitors is undoubtedly Mohamed Salah, whose brace against the Bianconeri means he has now scored six goals in his last six games. Lazio’s own emerging superstar, Felipe Anderson, is beginning to recapture his pre-injury form – pitching in a goal and an assist against Sassuolo. But the odds on the Fiorentina forward finding the net are more tempting here.
Salah to score – 5.10
Juventus – Sassuolo
Massimiliano Allegri rotated his Juventus team heavily for the cup game against Fiorentina, a decision he might now regret but which reflects his continued belief that his players must continue to prioritise the league – even though it appears to already be won. The likes of Carlos Tevez and Gigi Buffon will return to the starting XI to face Sassuolo, who are suffering through a brutal run of fixtures. In the last three weeks, the Neroverdi have played, and lost to, Fiorentina, Napoli and Lazio.
Monday will almost certainly bring a fourth consecutive defeat, but Sassuolo’s attacking trio of Domenico Berardi, Simone Zaza and Nicola Sansone might at least be able to ruffle Juve’s feathers for a while. The league leaders have not kept a clean sheet for six games.
Both teams to score – 2.30
