Paolo Bandini's Serie A Betting: Inter To Bounce Back And Shut Out Genoa

Lazio - Juventus

As Juventus battle their way back toward the top of the table, Lazio are moving in the opposite direction. Third at the start of October, they have now slid to 10th after collecting a paltry four points from their last seven games.

The prospects of a better result this weekend do not look good. Juventus are short in midfield, with Paul Pogba suspended and Sami Khedira still injured, but the Bianconeri have the bit between their teeth after winning four games straight, and Lazio have not beaten them in Serie A for 12 years.

Juventus to win - 2.20

Torino - Roma

More than a quarter of a century has gone by since Torino last won a home game against Roma, all the way back in October 1990. But this might be the best chance they have had to end that dry run for some time. Roma were beyond dismal in losing 2-0 at home to Atalanta last week, and their 6-1 drubbing by Barcelona before that may have knocked the stuffing out of them.

The Giallorossi do get Gervinho back from injury, and his pace will be a boon, but Torino have been steadily recovering a number of their own starters over the last few weeks and, factoring the midweek Coppa Italia victory over Cesena, have now won three games on the bounce.

Home win - 2.70

Inter - Genoa

Despite surrendering their position at the top of the table, Inter could still draw encouragement from their 2-1 defeat to Napoli on Monday night. Down by two goals and one man at the Stadio San Paolo, they showed character to fight their way back into the game and were unfortunate not to snatch a point after hitting both posts inside the final minute.

They are unlikely to experience similar frustration on Saturday. Inter have kept six clean sheets in seven home games so far this season, and Genoa’s leading scorer, Leonardo Pavoletti, is serving the first of a three-game suspension.

Home team to win without conceding a goal - 2.60
