Paolo Bandini's Serie A Betting: Spoils To Be Shared And Friends Reunited As Inter Face Sampdoria At San Siro

Saturday

Verona - Chievo

The derby is always a special fixture, as various players have lined up to remind us this week, but in Verona’s case this one feels more significant than most. With 13 games left to go, they are still 10 points adrift of safety. A win over city rivals could inspire them for a late season push, but a defeat might be psychologically crushing.

Verona’s manager, Gigi Delneri, has declared himself confident of a victory, and whilst it is hard to share such assuredness regarding a side that has only won one league match all season, he does appear to have restored a certain boldness to his team’s approach. Hellas have scored seven times in their last three games, and may continue to throw caution to the wind.

Over 2.5 goals - 2.10

Inter - Sampdoria

All eyes will be on Eder at San Siro, as the forward seeks out his first Inter goal against the club who sold him this January. But he will not be the only player reacquainting himself with an ex-employer; Samp have no fewer than seven former Inter players on their books - and at least five (Emiliano Viviano, Matías Silvestre, Andrea Ranocchia, Dodò and Antonio Cassano) who are likely to play.

Familiarity, then, could be a factor, but the greater question is whether either side is ready to shake out of a spell of poor form. Inter have won just one of their last seven matches, but Samp have won none of theirs.

Draw – 4.00
