Sampdoria 2.4, the draw 3.05, Udinese 3.1
Udinese’s up-and-down season found another high note on Thursday as they eliminated Inter from the Coppa Italia. The Friuliani have been infuriatingly inconsistent this season, losing to the likes of Chievo and Catania, but beating Fiorentina and drawing away to Napoli.
Samp, though, have looked far more reliable since appointing Sinisa Mihajlovic as manager, playing well even in defeats away to Napoli and Roma over the last four days. The absence of the injured Pedro Obiang in midfield will hurt them, but Udinese themselves are without Luis Muriel. Home win.
Inter 1.44, the draw 4.4, Chievo 7.2
That Udinese defeat was yet another blow to an Inter team that is in danger of coming off the rails.
Manager Walter Mazzarri has been forced to defend himself against negative comparisons with predecessor Andrea Stramaccioni, whose 2012-13 season fell apart after a bright start. This year’s group appear to be in danger of doing much the same thing – only without ever having put together as many points in the first place.
Inter must do without Fredy Guarín against Chievo, while their opponents are missing Luca Rigoni. Given the home team’s recent struggles, Chievo do not look like bad value in the double chance market at 2.75.
