Serie A Betting: Roma and Napoli to Share the Spoils

Friday

Roma 2.10, the draw 3.50, Napoli 3.30 (BET and WATCH LIVE on Unibet TV from 19.45 BST)

The weekend’s biggest game in Serie A had to be moved forward due to a planned protest in Rome against the construction of a new high-speed railway line. The good news for Roma is that their manager sees them as a different kind of vehicle altogether. "We are a car that is travelling very fast right now," said Rudi Garcia on Thursday. "But we must make sure we have a full tank of petrol."

The fuel he was referring to was that of attitude and desire. Garcia’s team are top of the league with seven wins from seven games, but he insisted that they should still be considered the underdogs against a Napoli team who sit just two points behind – and who were touted as title challengers before the season began. Personally, I like the draw at 3.50.

Saturday

Cagliari 1.95, the draw 3.30, Catania 3.90

At last, Cagliari will play a home game in their real hometown. Eighteen months after abandoning the Stadio Sant’Elia due to disagreements over who should pay the costs of renovating the communally-owned (and badly outdated) venue, the Rossoblu return there this weekend to host Catania. Safety concerns have led the authorities to limit ticket sales to a maximum of just under 5,000, but players and fans will nevertheless be buoyed by the news. Home win.

Milan 1.62, the draw 3.70, Udinese 5.30 (BET and WATCH LIVE on Unibet TV from 19.45 BST)

Mario Balotelli stole the headlines, as usual, during the international break – sparking a minor furore when he appeared to reject the suggestion that he could be a symbol for the anti-Camorra movement, before preserving Italy’s unbeaten World Cup qualifying campaign with a late equaliser against Armenia. He will not be the centre of attention this weekend, however, after picking up an injury in training.

Instead Milan must do without him against opponents who sit four places higher in the table. Udinese, though, have been miserable away from home this season – with no points and six goals conceded in three games. The price on the home win is a little short, so try the overs at 1.85.
