Transfer News Today: Is Lionel Messi Set For Sensational Chelsea Move?

Forum chatter

Tottenham want to sign Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph for £3million.

Good move? Delph’s contract at Villa Park expires in the summer and Tottenham will test Villa’s resolve for the England man with a £3million offer this month. Liverpool are also interested in Delph, who Villa fear will leave the club for free.

Transfer talk

Micah Richards is being linked with a return to the Premier League – at Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Good move? Richards will become a free agent in the summer, when his loan at Fiorentina comes to an end. Richards is free to talk to overseas clubs and Fiorentina have already offered him a long-term deal, with Inter Milan also said to be interested. But Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Richards and could make a summer move for the Manchester City man.

London for Lionel?

Lionel Messi has sparked frenzied speculation that he could be set for a stunning move to Chelsea after he started following the Blues and Chelsea stars Cesc Fabregas, Felipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois on Instagram.

Good move? This could quite easily be mischief making on Messi’s part, but given the chaos that surrounds Barcelona at the moment and the alleged tension between the four-time Ballon d’Or winner and Barca coach Luis Enrique, it’s rather strange that Messi should follow Chelsea. On the other hand, he also follows Beyonce so let’s all calm down for a moment.

Itchy feet

Swansea striker Wilfried Bony has told the club that he would be interested in joining a Champions League club this month.

Good move? Bony is hot property and is now beyond the likes of Liverpool and Spurs. Manchester City appear to be leading the race, but Real Madrid have also expressed an interest in a player that could fetch as much as £30million.

Fox in the box

Leicester City are on the brink of completing a deal for Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric.

Good move? Kramaric seemed set for a move to Chelsea this time last week, but the player has taken the wise choice to avoid being shipped out to Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse Arnhem and get regular games at the King Power stadium. Leicester’s survival hopes will be on the 23-year-old’s shoulders.
