Transfer News Today: Liverpool Make Shock Move For Former Man United Striker

Forum chatter

Andre Schurrle could leave Chelsea for Atletico Madrid, after the Spanish club expressed an interest in the German World Cup winner.

Deal or no deal? The only way this could happen is if Schurrle puts in a transfer request, and that appears unlikely. No deal.

Tabloid speculation I

Hull are lining up a shock £14million move for Manchester United and England forward Danny Welbeck.

Deal or no deal? Welbeck expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford back in May in order to get increased game time. But his request has gone quiet since, suggesting he has been reassured of his playing time by Louis van Gaal. But those feeling could easily resurface before the transfer window shuts. Deal (maybe).

Tabloid speculation II

Liverpool are interested in signing former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi, as their search for the new Luis Suarez goes on.

Deal or no deal? Rossi has been a big success in Italy, scoring 16 goals in 21 Serie A games since joining Fiorentina last summer. Rossi would cost around £20million, but with Cuadrado set for Barcelona, will the Italian side sell? And given his United connections, this looks a long shot. No deal.

In talks

Tottenham and Inter Milan are in talks over a swap deal for Roberto Soldado and Fredy Guarin.

Deal or no deal? Inter are open to letting Guarin go but have insisted that Spurs stump up an additional £10million to make it happen.  On paper it looks possible, but given the interest in Guarin from Manchester United, will the Colombian want to join Spurs? And do Inter really want Soldado? Too many ‘ifs’ here: No deal.

Signed, sealed, delivered

Tottenham have completed the signing of USA international DeAndre Yedlin for an undisclosed fee from Seattle Sounders. Yedlin, a highly-rated young winger, will remain at Seattle on loan until the start of the 2015-16 season.
