Liverpool have been cleared to sign Lazio’s exciting teenage forward Keita Balde Diao, formerly of Barcelona, after opening talks with the Serie A club over a huge £24m fee for the exciting 19-year-old.

Our view: After signing Divock Origi and loaning him back to Lille, you’d think the Reds were more interested in bringing in established talent, but there is little doubt that Diao has promise.

Our view: Shouldn’t Soldado get another chance at Spurs? He was clearly a prolific forward before his nightmare year at White Hart Lane, and perhaps Mauricio Pochettino can work miracles with him.
