Transfer News Today: Man United To Table Bid For Inter Milan Midfielder

Forum chatter

Real Madrid look set to join the race for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, whose future is in doubt.

Deal or no deal? The arrival of Courtois at Chelsea on a permanent basis has unsurprisingly led to questions about the Czech’s future. Real Madrid have struggled for a goalkeeper since things went downhill for Iker Casillas and this would seem to make sense for both Madrid and Cech.

Tabloid speculation

Manchester United have been given the green light to sign Inter Milan’s Colombia star Freddy Guarin.

Deal or no deal? Guarin has long been linked with a move to United and, while lacking the verve and dynamism of Arturo Vidal, would be a solid addition to Van Gaal’s midfield. And given Walter Mazzarri’s desire to sign Jonathan Biabiany from Parma, Inter are open to offers.

Make weight?

Tottenham are ready to offload Belgian flop Nacer Chadli to PSV in the hope of signing Dutch wing wizard Memphis Depay.

Deal or no deal? Depay is seen as the next big thing in Dutch football and Spurs would do very well to get him. Chadli has been a huge disappointment and it is thought the London club are willing to offer £9million to push the deal through.

In talks

Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Thomas Vermaelen, who is also a target for Barcelona.

Deal or no deal? It is thought Vermaelen will cost United or Barca in the region of £15million, but United are swimming against the tide here given that they are direct rivals to Arsenal and that they are not in the Champions League. It could be a little while yet before this deal is concluded.

Signed, sealed, delivered

QPR have completed the signing of Juventus defender Mauricio Isla on a season long loan.

Deal or no deal? ‘Arry has done well again in the transfer market, bringing in a seasoned Chile international to partner either Rio Ferdinand or Steven Caulker at the back without having to sign him on a permanent deal. Just don’t call him a wheeler dealer.
