Transfer News Today: Manchester United Offer Forward To Sweeten Vidal Deal

Forum Chatter

Manchester United are offering forward Javier Hernandez to Juventus in a bid to smooth negotiations for long-term target Arturo Vidal.

Our view: Anything to hurry this tedious transfer along would be a blessing at this point, and United can probably stand to lose a ‘Little Pea’ who has needed a big move for a while now.

Tabloid Gossip I

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is edging closer to a reunion with former boss Rafael Benitez at Napoli, with the Brazilian seen as an alternative to Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini.

Our view: With Emre Can having signed and Steven Gerrard, Joe Allen, Jordan Henderson and others still around, Lucas would appear to be an odd man out at Anfield all of a sudden, and a move could suit everyone.

Tabloid Gossip II

Another player heading out of Liverpool could be defender Kolo Toure, who is close to joining Turkish side Trabzonspor after just one year at Anfield.

Our view: Like Lucas, the 33-year-old Toure appears to have been edged out of the picture by the likes of Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and new signing Dejan Lovren, and he isn’t likely to get much playing time at Anfield.

In Talks

Veteran forward Samuel Eto’o appears set to snub advances from Tottenham and West Ham after holding talks with Dutch giants Ajax.

Our view: Eto’o was a useful addition for Chelsea last season, but given his age he isn’t worth breaking the bank over, with his wages surely a stumbling block to any move.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Inter Milan have completed the signing of Cardiff City and Chile midfielder Gary Medel, who moves to the Serie A outfit for £10m.

Our view: There was no way that Medel was going to stay in the Championship, and he represents a good solid addition to an Inter side desperate to improve.
