Transfer News Today: Martinez CONFIRMS Move To Madrid Giants

Belgian revolution

Tottenham’s hopes of signing the entire Belgium national team look set to continue with Everton’s Kevin Mirallas the latest name to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

Haven’t Spurs gone in for Mirallas before? Yes, they tried to get him in January but are expected to go back in with an improved offer of around £7million.

Spending spree

Liverpool’s chequebook is out again, with the Anfield club having made contact with Italian side Atalanta about the availability of right-back Davide Zappacosta.

Is he any good? The 23-year-old played in Italy Under-21s' victory over England on Wednesday and has impressed throughout the tournament. Could be the latest star off the Atalanta conveyor belt.

Smash & Fab

Manchester City have reportedly offered Aston Villa £10million for Fabian Delph.

That’s not much… No, but the buyout clause in Delph’s new contract is only £10million and City are hoping to exploit this by offering the England international a huge wage increase.

Breaking the bank

Manchester United have told Real Madrid that they’ll have to fork out a world record fee for a goalkeeper if they want to sign David de Gea.

So how much is that then? Juventus paid Parma £32.6million for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001. Suggestions are that Real Madrid will have to pay over £40million for De Gea - the exact figure they are quoting United for Sergio Ramos. Have they never heard of a swap?

Fee agreed

Jackson Martinez has snubbed Arsenal and AC Milan in favour for Atletico Madrid.

Is it confirmed? Martinez admitted after Colombia’s Copa America exit to Argentina last night that the deal has been agreed, for a fee of almost £30million. Not cheap, but Martinez has had three superb seasons at Porto and should hit the ground running in Madrid. He said: "I can confirm I am going to Atletico. I am going there for four years but I still do not know when I will be introduced."
