Transfer News Today: Muller Reveals ‘Astronomical’ Man United Offer

Forum chatter

Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.

Deal or no deal? The Portuguese press are reporting a bid of £35million, which appears to be wide of the mark. Sporting have so far rejected the interest of Arsenal and Manchester United, but keeping Chelsea at bay could be more of a challenge. NO DEAL – but one to keep an eye on.

Tabloid speculation

Tottenham are weighing up a double swoop for out-of-favour United pair Javier Hernandez and Marouane Fellaini.

Deal or no deal? While Tottenham are in the market for a proven striker, Daniel Levy has told Mauricio Pochettino that he must trim his squad before making new signings. We’re unlikely to see any major arrivals at Spurs until a few players are sold. NO DEAL.

Come back home

New Crystal Palace manager in waiting Malky Mackay will make Wilfried Zaha his first signing at Selhurst Park.

Deal or no deal? There is talk that the friction between Tony Pulis and Palace Chairman Steve Parish was rooted in Parish’s desire to bring back Zaha, which Pulis didn’t want. With Mackay, who brought Zaha to Cardiff on loan last season, soon to be in charge of the Eagles – could Zaha be on his way home? DEAL – but it there are a few hurdles to clear.

Staying Put

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has revealed that Manchester United made him an ‘astronomical’ offer to move to Old Trafford this summer. “I was aware that I could earn more by making that transfer,” Muller told Bild. “The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me.” Muller signed a new five-year deal in June to stay at the Allianz Arena.

In talks

Bayern Munich are set to sign Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, despite interest from Chelsea.

Deal or no deal? With Khedira having been unable to agree a deal with both Arsenal and Chelsea, it appears Khedira’s options are very limited if he wants a move this summer. Bayern, who have lost Javi Martinez to a long term injury, would be an ideal destination for the 27-year-old. DEAL.
