Mata to Paris Saint-Germain, Mitroglou to Liverpool, Draxler flirts with Arsenal and Iniesta mulls over new Barca deal...
Liverpool are planning a £7million move for Olympiakos striker Kostas Mitroglou. Arsenal have also been monitoring the Greek star, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is fast-emerging as the strongest contender to sign him.
Why it will happen: With Arsenal turning their attention to Karim Benzema, Liverpool will find it easier to land Mitroglou, whose record suggests the £7million price tage could be a snip.
Why it won’t happen: Mitroglou will look at the strength of the Suarez and Sturridge partnership and question whether he’ll get regular game time at Anfield.

Chelsea are bracing themselves for a £40million bid from Paris Saint-Germain for out-of-favour playmaker Juan Mata in January. Mata has barely played under Jose Mourinho and the French champions are in pole position to take advantage.
Why it will happen: Mata will not want to drop down the pecking order in the Spain setup, especially in a World Cup year. He’ll also find the opportunity to be a marquee signing by the French champions difficult to turn down.
Why it won’t happen: Chelsea will only sell if they have a replacement, and finding someone of Mata’s quality to sit on the bench will be tricky.

Julian Draxler could become the latest German star to move to Arsenal after refusing to rule out a move to the Emirates. "I have always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal is of course one of them. I sometimes speak to Mesut (Ozil) or Per (Mertesacker) about the club, and they always have good words and tell me nice things,” said the Schalke star.
Why it will happen: Draxler is a superstar in the making and Arsene Wenger knows his stock will only rise. With Ozil, Mertersacker, Serge Gnabry and Lukas Podolski already at the club, it’s only natural for Draxler to want to join his countrymen.
Why it won’t happen: Where would he fit in? Another attacking midfielder is the last thing Arsenal need, with Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Tomas Rosicky, Aaron Ramsey Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all fighting for a place.
Barcelona's Andres Iniesta is mulling over a contract offer that would see him net a £9.1million-a-year salary and end his career at Camp Nou. Manchester United are ready to pounce if the deal doesn’t go through.
Why it will happen: Iniesta is a Barca hero and is surely just bargaining for a better deal.
Why it won’t happen: Iniesta may feel Barca are on the wane and could see Manchester United as a better option at this stage of his career.
