Tabloid speculation

German World Cup winner Sami Khedira looks set to be playing his club football for Chelsea, not Arsenal, after agreeing to join the Blues – but not until next summer. Khedira has a year left on his current deal and, according to reports, will join Jose Mourinho’s side in 2015.

Our view: Given Khedira’s alleged wage demands of £150,000-a-week, Khedira was only ever going to end up at a financial heavyweight such as Chelsea. Khedira has worked with Mourinho before and the deal makes sense for all parties.

Bayern Munich are rumoured to be interested in signing Marco Reus from rivals Borussia Dortmund after CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge praised the Germany forward, saying: “It’s common knowledge that he is a Borussia Dortmund player and that he has a release clause of around 25 million euros. Without any doubt, he is a very good player.”
