Transfer News Today: Sneijder set for Mourinho reunion at Chelsea?

Forum chatter

Wayne Rooney looks like he's on his way out of Manchester United this summer, but where will he head next? The rumours doing the rounds this week suggest that Arsenal could be his destination, with Arsene Wenger presumably keen to sign an attacker to build his side around. Can the Gunners afford it? Stay tuned.

Tabloid speculation I

Watch out, transfer market! Roman Abramovich has handed Jose Mourinho his chequebook again! The Portuguese coach is believed to be keen on all number of players, not least Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder. How would the Dutchman fit into a midfield that already contains Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard? Goodness knows.

Tabloid speculation II

STOP PRESS. This just in: Tottenham Hotspur need a striker. Andre Villas-Boas has apparently lost patience with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor, and is planning a raid on former club Porto to sign Jackson Martinez. The Colombian wouldn't come cheap, but it's always nice to have a forward who can actually score when you need it most.

Medical and terms

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Sevilla for flying winger Jesus Navas. The fee is believed to be in the region of £17million, with further add-ons based on performance. With Manuel Pellegrino also bound for the Etihad, could we be in for something of a Spanish invasion?
