Southampton are set to move for Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson as a replacement for Calum Chambers, who moved the other way in a £16m deal yesterday.
Deal or no deal? Southampton can’t afford to mess around, having lost pretty much their entire team during this transfer window. They must secure a competent right-back quickly, and Jenkinson fits the bill. Although they will have to fend off West Ham, who have expressed interest in a loan deal.
Louis van Gaal is set to wield the axe on Manchester United pair Marouane Fellaini and Shinji Kagawa. Fellaini is a target for Napoli while Borussia Dortmund are interested in bringing Kagawa back to Signal Iduna Park.
Deal or no deal? Both players have underperformed since signing for United and patience is running thin at Old Trafford. Kagawa was frequently played out of position under David Moyes and has been further marginalised since the arrival of Juan Mata, while Fellaini, who has no goals and one assist to his name in 21 competitive games, has been a huge disappointment.

Tabloid speculation II
Loic Remy could return to Newcastle on another season-long loan, after his proposed move to Liverpool fell through because of a failed medical.
Deal or no deal? Remy desperately wants Champions League football, but doesn’t everyone? The French striker seems destined to leave QPR and Newcastle, for whom he scored 14 goals in 26 games last season, have emerged as the most likely team to get him.

In talks I
Tottenham are in talks to sign Porto right-back Miguel Lopes on a season-long loan deal.
Deal or no deal? Tottenham struggled defensively last season, particularly in the full-back areas. Kyle Walker missed the end of last season through injury and Lopes, who spent last season on loan at Lyon, would offer genuine competition to Walker, who has struggled to replicate the form he showed when he first broke into the Spurs team. Lopes has four caps for Portugal and, at 27, offers good experience.
Come and get me!
West Ham have joined Queens Park Rangers in pursuit of the want-away Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena, with both clubs having opened negotiations with the French club over a potential £6.5m move to London.
Deal or no deal? Valbuena would make a superb signing for either of these clubs. The attacking midfielder shone for Les Bleus at the World Cup and would likely thrive under Harry Redknapp, but can the Hammers hijack the deal?
