However, Arshavin is said to prefer a return to Russia, while Andre Villas-Boas will not allow Defoe to leave White Hart Lane until at least one other forward is brought into White Hart Lane.

Chelsea’s summer spending spree is far from over. The European Champions are ramping up their interest in Napoli’s Uruguayan  striker Edinson Cavani and Marseille’s Spanish international full back Cesar Azpilicueta, both of whom are currently in London representing their respective nations in the 2012 Olympics.
