Transfer News Today: Zidane tells Bale to force Real Madrid move

Forum chatter

The Manchester City forums have been alive with chat that left-back Aleksandar Kolarov could be on his way back to Serie A to join Inter Milan. City paid Lazio £19million for the Serbian in 2010, but it’s being speculated that Inter are ready bring him back to the league where he made his name. But with two years still to run on his contract at the Etihad and very high wages, it will take a big offer to prise the 27-year-old away from Manchester.

Tabloid speculation

Manchester United are hoping to hijack Chelsea’s move for Dutch under-21 international Marco van Ginkel. The Vitesse midfielder had looked set to sign a £15million deal at Stamford Bridge in the coming days, but David Moyes is having none of it as he hopes to poach the young prospect from Chelsea’s grasp as he looks to bolster his midfield options.

The Daily Bale

Real Madrid’s sporting director Zinedine Zidane has been a naughty boy, suggesting Gareth Bale should hand in a transfer request at Tottenham in order to push through a move to the Bernabeu.

Real are ready to break the world record transfer fee for Bale, with Tottenham only willing to sell at a huge price

"I think Real Madrid have made their admiration of Gareth Bale very clear - and it has been made clear that we would not be put off by the cost of the player," Zidane was quoted as saying.

"But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave."

Back Bale to make Real move at odds of 1.90.

Come and get me

Valencia and Spain striker Roberto Soldado has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could leave La Liga this summer – and the Tottenham and Liverpool target has expressed his attraction to the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

“I’m very happy at Valencia but will not close the door to anything,” said Soldado. “I know that some of my Spain team-mates have left La Liga and done very well.

“The Premier League and the Bundesliga are very attractive for any player and we would all like to enjoy something there.”

In talks

Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet looks set to sign for Liverpool for around £9million this week. The Belgian stopper is wanted by Brendan Rodgers as a long-term replacement for Pepe Reina, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
