The San Antonio Spurs will bid to extend their winning streak to four on Saturday, but they’ll have to achieve victory in Atlanta without the help of Manu Ginobili.
The Argentine is out for up to two weeks with a hamstring problem, which will hurt the Spurs, who are averaging 105.6 points at home but only 98 on the road over the last month or so. But the Hawks have problems of their own, with Al Horford missing Friday’s loss to Brooklyn and Lou Williams going off injured during the second period.
Atlanta remain vulnerable inside, especially without Horford, and the Spurs are 28-2 when they have the better field goal percentage this season. Even at -3.5 on the handicap, back San Antonio to come up trumps.
Two of the NBA’s basement dwellers go head-to-head when Charlotte host Sacramento. The Bobcats picked up a rare win on Friday in Orlando to improve their meagre record to 10-29, but they’ve not won at home since mid-November. With Demarcus Cousins giving the Kings a punch that Charlotte lack, there’s value on Sacto at -2 on the handicap in a game that could roll over 205.0 total points, available at 1.91.
There’s long odds on Cleveland taking the spoils in Utah with the Cavs at 5.10 for the victory and +9.0 on the handicap. With the Jazz coming off an extended break, they should win. But Kyrie Irving could take advantage of Al Jefferson’s poor defence so don’t be shocked if Cleveland put on a show.
Bet of the day: Take San Antonio over Atlanta on the handicap at 1.91.
