Unibet Open Glasgow All Set For Sports Legends Challenge

The Unibet Open heads north to Scotland for the first time this weekend, and settles into the historic home of Celtic FC, Celtic Park for a weekend of poker-based shenanigans.

The four day long festival culminates in a televised €1,100 Main Event however to kick things off we have something a little different planned… Nine heroes of the sporting world battling it out around one poker table with all of the action streamed live on YouTube and Twitch!

A lot of our players love both poker and football so we decided that there couldn’t be a more fitting place to bring the two beautiful games together than in the legendary 113 year old stadium.

Along with up to 60,000 passionate fans this stadium also hosts one of the most notorious rivalries in the entire world of sport; Celtic vs Rangers. The rivalry will be brought to the poker table for the first time with ex-Celtic striker Tony Cascarino facing off against former Dutch international and Rangers defender Arthur Numan.

If you want to give yourself an extra incentive to watch sports legends such as ex-England cricketer Graeme Swann playing poker with hole cards exposed then you can have a bet too. Who do you think will be able to take it down? Current favourite is Cascarino coming in at 3/1 which is no doubt a result of his very much established record on the tournament circuit with over £380,000 in cashes.

It will by no means be a stroll through Celtic Park though, as he has to navigate his way through a field of talented sportsmen such as Newcastle United star Rob Lee, Chelsea favourite Pat Nevin, Danish star Kenneth Perez, Martijn Reuser and Tommie van der Leegte.

You can catch all of the action on Twitch or YouTube from 2.30pm BST and there will be highlights, interviews and exclusives on the Unibet Poker Facebook and Twitter account.
