ATP Bucharest Betting: Zeballos to suffer loss against Garcia-Lopez

It was a good start to Week 17 of the ATP World Tour, with both of my best bets in Barcelona proving successful on Monday.

The day began in perfect fashion for this column, with Albert Montanes producing the kind of display I was expecting in a straight sets win over Ricardas Berankis.

The Barcelona resident saved both of the break points he faced and despite being a little less than ruthless in taking just three of his nine break point chances, the result was never really in doubt.

The same can't be said about Pablo Andujar, who did things the hard way against Grega Zemlja, but he managed to regroup well after losing a first set in which he held several set points.

Tuesday's schedule in Barcelona sees some of the bigger names make their entrances and Tomas Berdych won't be on my list of likely short-priced winners against his old nemesis Nikolay Davydenko, who has won 10 of their 12 matches.

Davydenko may well enjoy this one, but most of those wins came a long time ago and the 2013 Davydenko can't be trusted to produce the right level often enough for me.

Ernests Gulbis takes on Fernando Verdasco in perhaps the game of the day, but for me the value price on Tuesday is that of Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in Bucharest against Horacio Zeballos.

The Spaniard has been in the doldrums for a while, but he's shown signs of life lately and when he's in form he can be a classy operator. He dropped down to Challenger level last week and reached the Rome final after a couple of good wins in Monte-Carlo and this is a winnable match today.

Zeballos has seemingly struggled to come to terms with defeating Rafa Nadal in the Vina Del Mar final. His record since then is three wins and six defeats, with losses to the likes of Paul Capdeville and Aljaz Bedene on the dirt and some tough draws on hard courts.

If he hadn't had that win against Rafa, this match would be not far off even money and for me 1.55 on Zeballos is too short. I'm taking the 2.40 about Garcia-Lopez, who should be a force today with renewed confidence.

Best Bet: Back Garcia-Lopez to beat Zeballos at 2.40
