There was one hell of a party in one Norwegian household last night, as a Unibet customer won huge with his long odds multiple bet on Tuesday night's football action.
In doing so, the annonymous bettor became the biggest single bet winner in the history of Unibet, turning his £53.72 stake into £84,188.30.
Most of the correct results were fairly straightforward: he bet on six draws in total - three each from the Champions League and The Championship. The first five were tied going into the latter stages: AC Milan v Malaga, Dynamo Kiev v Porto, Schalke v Arsenal, Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough and Bolton v Leicester City.
But his epic windfall was only secured by the sixth draw, with Huddersfield Town's Lee Novak striking a dramatic late equaliser in The Terriers' 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers. That final piece of the accumulator jigsaw fell into place four minutes into injury time, thrusting our lucky winner into dreamland...
“I was getting upset as I was not winning on lower odds backing ‘safe’ bets so I changed and bet on games with higher risk. Sometimes I do research, but this bet I had a “feeling” it would be good.” He then added: “I love betting with Unibet.”
It just goes to show how a hunch can sometimes lead to rewards aplenty. Congratulations to that man!
