Finland 1.70, the draw 4.50, USA 3.60

After being knocked off top spot in Group A by Canada, Finland now face a battle against the USA to hold on to second place. After leading 3-1 during the second period, it was strange to see the co-hosts collapse and concede four straight goals after they had looked so stable earlier in the tournament. The home fans will be hoping that their team is capable of winning the big games and a win here would restore some faith.

It's been a mixed bag for the USA so far, with a win over Canada balanced out by a loss to Slovakia. They were again unconvincing as pool whipping boys Kazakhstan managed to get them to overtime and pick up their first and only point of the tournament so far. If they could replicate one of their good showings, it'll be an interesting game indeed.

Switzerland 2.55, the draw 4.35, Slovakia 2.25

Qualification from the Helsinki group could be all but secured by Slovakia if they can manage a win over Switzerland later in the day. Outside of the top 6, it has been Slovakia who have looked the most capable and they would be deserved quarter-finalists. Whoever draws them will know it will not be a formality.

On the other hand, Switzerland look set to go home disappointed. They suffered a shock defeat against France yesterday and are now required to win here and against the USA in their final group game to progress. I can't see them winning either.

Russia 1.75, the draw 4.40, Czech Republic 3.70

After producing a remarkable third period performance to beat Sweden 7-3, Russia aim to keep the momentum and stay unbeaten against a Czech team that also looks to heading in to the next round with relative ease. Their offense looked very scary indeed during that match. Evgeni Malkin, who notched a hat-trick, leads the scoring charts for the tournament with 12 points from 5 games.

It was an uncertain start to the competition for the Czech Republic but three straight wins have put them back amongst it and they look capable of challenging Russia's perfect record. They weren't great against Sweden and will be aiming to show they are capable of winning against the level of opponent they will likely meet in the quarters.
