Utah Jazz 2.35, Brooklyn Nets 1.60 – BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 02.05 GMT
Heading into the second half of the campaign, the Brooklyn Nets continue to be the most fascinating team in the NBA, even though they still have a losing record and are hanging onto a play-off berth by the slenderest of grips.
With the league’s trading deadline arriving later this week, there’s no indication that their rich ownership is going to pull the plug on his expensive roster and go for a quick asset dumping. Which means we will get to see how far the high-paid cast of misfits can go if they finally find their groove.
It all starts with a visit to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday with Brooklyn 14-7 in 2014 but still struggling outside NYC. The All Star break, at least, will have given Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce some much-needed rest as the Nets – who are 1.60 for the win – gear up for a charge.
But the Jazz will equally hope the breather hasn’t broken their momentum following a spurt of three straight victories which began with an upset of Miami. They’re a better team than their record suggests and it’s no shock that with a little more experience in unison, they’ve moved off the bottom of the Western Conference.
Utah are still only averaging 94.3 points per night with Brooklyn on 97.2. So look under the total points line of 188.5 at 2.45 with the hosts to come up on top.
Minnesota Timberwolves 2.35, Indiana Pacers 1.60 - BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 01.05 GMT
The Indiana Pacers remain 3.70 second favourites for the NBA title and 2.10 for the Eastern Conference, both behind Miami, but they started off their second-half push with a demolition of Atlanta on Tuesday.
They move on to face the Minnesota Timberwolves, who need a strong spell to make the post-season, despite the short-term absences of Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic who combine for 37 points per game.
The T-Wolves been up and down offensively and although Kevin Love has averaged 31.5 points over his last ten outings, the Pacers held him to 20 in the previous meeting between these two - a 98-84 win for Indiana. Expect more of the same.
Best bet: Take Utah to beat Brooklyn at 2.35.
