LA Lakers 7.50, Oklahoma City Thunder 1.11 - BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 03.35 GMT
After six straight home losses, the Los Angeles Lakers could really do with a Hollywood makeover. Unfortunately, all the special effects in the world can’t mask their woes as they prepare to host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.
Another defeat would set the longest losing streak since the Lakers arrived in LA 54 years ago and with no-one on their active roster averaging over 10 points per game, it’s easy to see where the problems lie with their short-handed squad notching a mark of 82.5 in reverses to Chicago and Utah this week.
That should be far too easy for OKC, the West leaders, with Kevin Durant alone scoring at a clip of 35.2 points over his last 21 appearances and the Thunder piling up 104.9 per night on the season.
Even if Steve Nash recovers from injury, there’s little hope for the Lakers who are +12.5 on the handicap. Even though their guests have only won by that much on three occasions during their spell of 14 wins from their last 16 games, they’re just stronger in every area.
But with All Star Weekend looming, and the chance of a breather, look under 201.5 total points at 2.45 if Durant gets an early night.
Chicago Bulls 1.60, Brooklyn Nets 2.35 - BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 01.05 GMT
The Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets are both undergoing revivals but the latter remain outside the playoff spots, rendering tonight’s clash in the Windy City all the more vital.
On Christmas Day, the Bulls pulled off a 95-78 but the Nets are much-improved since then and in two successive wins, they’ve held opponent to an average of 85.
Brooklyn is 2.50 for the win but have a punt on going under the total points line of 180.5 at 2.16.
Best bet: Take the Thunder over the Lakers on the handicap of -13.5 at 2.16.
