Will the Miami Heat make it three wins in a row on Tuesday night in the NBA Finals? Unless the Oklahoma City Thunder undergo a radical transformation from Sunday, the answer must be no. Another virtuoso defensive performance from the Heat would surely put them just one victory away from a second title in six years.
Miami’s 91-85 win in Game 3 was notable for two things: LeBron James’ continued willingness to hit big shots in crunch time and the miserly points tally produced by OKC. It’s only the second time this post-season that the prolific Thunder have been held under 90 points and it was their lack of three-point production that cost them dear: they hit only 4-18. The Heat have put the shackles on their rivals, with even Kevin Durant pinned down last time.
But can they do it again and take a 3-1 lead in the best of seven series? The points total forecast for Game 4 is 192.0 and if you presume Oklahoma City were merely having a blip, it’s worth going over that at 1.91.
The Thunder are also a tempting 2.37 to hit back, with Miami at 1.60. There’s even better value on the Half-Time/Full-Time odds if OKC can re-discover their second half turnaround mojo at 7.00.
The Heat are now favourites to win the series and are just 2.50 to claim the next two ties on their home court and clinch the championship. There’s great odds available on Miami to eventually prevail 4-3 at 7.00.
Bet of the Day: Take the Thunder over the Heat on the handicap at +3.5 points at 1.91.
