There are just three places still up for grabs in this season’s NBA play-offs. Two more could come off the market on Saturday night.
A victory for the Denver Nuggets in Phoenix would be enough to book their trip into the post-season for the ninth successive year and of late, they have been able to scorch the Suns, winning 109-92 in February and again by 105-99 two weeks ago. They’ve won four of their last seven with a high scoring offence, notching over 97 points every time, led by Aaron Affalo’s emergence in the backcourt.
Their destiny remains in their own hands. So too Phoenix’s. But they’re under pressure from Utah who should step up their quest for the eighth and final play-off spot in the Western Conference with win at plummeting Orlando. However the Suns have been solid at home since the All Star break, going 12-3, so take them to win at a handicap of -4 (available at 1.91) and take a punt on going over the total points forecast of 211.
The other tie with play-off implications hands Philadelphia the chance to clinch the last available berth in the Eastern Conference when they travel to the Indiana Pacers. The hosts, with 11 wins from their last 12 and seven in succession, could legitimately rest some players given that they’re already locked into the third seed in the East and with two more home games to go.
However, that’s not a policy they’re publically endorsing so even at -4.5, take Indiana to prevail at 1.91. But with Philly forced to actively stake their claim, look for these two to go over 190 points.
Bet of the Day: Go over 190 total points in Philadelphia @ Indiana at 1.91.
