New York Knicks 1.70, Brooklyn Nets 2.18
Fresh off their win over the Houston Rockets last night, which guaranteed them a playoff spot, the Brooklyn Nets are on the road this evening as they pop across the East river to Madison Square Garden for a date with the New York Knicks.
Normally, you'd want to bet against the team playing back-to-back games with the second game being on the road, but seeing as it's only six miles to MSG from the Barclays Center, normal logic does not apply, and there will no doubt be pockets of Nets fans in among the crowd this evening believing the Nets will win (2.18).
Both of these teams were awful earlier in the season, but after a while the Nets began to get themselves together. More recently, the Knicks finally woke up and realised that games were fast running out and they needed to do something to make the play-offs.
Ever since then they've been slowly chipping away at Atlanta, the team they need to overtake to get into the post-season, to the point where they are now just a game behind the Hawks.
When the Knicks play well, it's usually down to their defence. They've been grinding out wins this way in recent weeks and will need it to get past Brooklyn tonight.
With that in mind, look to go under a combined total of 196.5 points, available at 1.87, or take the home team (Knicks) to score below 99.5 points at 1.82.
Atlanta Hawks 2.18, Chicago Bulls 1.70
With the Knicks hot on their heels, the Atlanta Hawks are a team under serious pressure, and just like the Indiana Pacers, they don't seem to be coping with it very well. Tonight they host the surprising Chicago Bulls and while the Bulls are .500 on the road this season, you have to fancy them to get something out of this as they've done well against the Hawks, including winning the last meeting in Atlanta.
Having Kyle Korver back from a recent injury will help the Hawks, but only if he's shooting the ball well.
For 1.75 you can have the Bulls to win and compound the Hawks' misery, or take the 1.85 on offer for the Bulls to have over 93.5 points by the end of the game.
Best bet: Home team (New York Knicks) to score below 99.5 points, at 1.82
