NBA Betting: Miami To Feel The Heat In Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns can take advantage of the Miami Heat's recent inconsistency, writes Unibet columnist Mark Woods...

Phoenix Suns 2.55, Miami Heat 1.53  - starts at 02.05 GMT

It’s just five days until the NBA All Star Game in New Orleans and, bar a late call-up, Goran Dragic will not be taking part in the annual showpiece. But the Phoenix Suns guard has a chance to underline the folly of his omission when he faces the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

The Slovene is the biggest reason why the Suns have shaken off pre-season prediction of doom to be in the thick of the play-off hunt, averaging 20.4 points and 6.1 assists per game. And he’s bumped up his scoring mark to 26.5 over Phoenix’s last four games – including a career-high 34 in Saturday’s rout of Golden State - with his team now notching 105.1 per night on the season.

Miami, who remain 3.60 favourites to defend their title, held Dragic to 14 in their 107-92 win in South Beach in November and they’ve come out on top on their last five trips to the desert. But the Heat’s ongoing inconsistency was showed up again when they lost in Utah on Saturday.

And the Suns, with Dragic pulling the strings, are good value at 2.55 for victory to make another point.

Portland Trail Blazers 1.88, Oklahoma City Thunder 1.92 – starts at 03.05 GMT

The Portland Trail Blazers’ recent stumbles have left them five points behind the Oklahoma City Thunder in the race to top the Western Conference. They’ll get a chance to close that gap in Oregon tonight with the season series currently tied at 1-1.

OKC, who have won nine of their last eleven, will surely look to Kevin Durant once more with the All Star averaging 38.7 in his two meetings with the Blazers to date.

Portland – who are -1.5 on the handicap at 1.98 - need more though from Damian Lillard who is putting up 18.1 per night over his last ten, bolstered only by a 38-point explosion against Indiana last week.

On current form, look at the Thunder on the handicap of -8.5 at 3.95.

Best bet: Take Phoenix +2.5 on the handicap against Miami at 2.20.
