NBA Betting: Nuggets to Turn On The Style as Chicago Visit Denver

Denver Nuggets vs Chicago Bulls (BET and STREAM LIVE on Unibet TV from 03.35 GMT)

For lovers of high-scoring, free-shooting, rip-roaring entertainment, then the Denver Nuggets were the connoisseur’s choice last season, with entertainment the name of the game in the Mile High City.

It took them as far as the third-best record in the West but with coach George Karl replaced by Brian Shaw, can their updated version continue to win hearts as well as games?

Probably neither, at least not any time soon. Shaw came in preaching defence for his rookie tour of duty on the bench and although the Nuggets are still averaging a more than healthy 104.6 points per night (down 2 on last term), they’ve also given up 105.6 (up 4) during their 4-6 start and are shooting a hideous 71% from the free throw line.

And having enjoyed the best homecourt advantage in the NBA, they’re also looking much vulnerable in Denver with the Chicago Bulls coming into town on Thursday night to pose another threat.

Indiana aside, Chicago is doing the best job in the NBA at limiting opposition field goal success, a major factor in their giving up just 89.0 points per game. But they will be hindered by the absence of Jimmy Butler for at least a week, which may see them concede a few points extra each night. That could give the Nuggets an edge and they’re 2.00 to take victory. But have a punt on going over the line of 197 total points at 1.91.

Oklahoma City vs LA Clippers (BET and STREAM LIVE on Unibet TV from 01.05 GMT)

Two leviathans of the Western Conference clash when the Clippers hit OKC tonight with the Thunder a perfect 4-0 at home to date. The potentially decisive duel pits Russell Westbrook against Chris Paul with the latter averaging 22.8 points since his belated season debut.

He’s averaging 5.1 assists also (seven less than Paul) but with Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka offering a simpler scoring route, expect Westbrook to be the facilitator as his team tries to average their 111-103 loss in LA last week. With little to choose between the rivals, look at the Clippers on the handicap of +5.5 at 1.91.

Best bet: Take Denver for the win over Chicago at 2.00.
