After 12 wins in a row, the Denver Nuggets face their toughest hurdle on Tuesday night when they land in Oklahoma City.
With 20 consecutive home victories behind them, the Thunder are in the mood to halt the charge of their Western Conference rivals.
It will, in all probability, be a scoring free-for-all between two of the NBA’s most offensively gifted sides with the total points line at 215.5. While OKC has let three of its last four opponents score over 100 points, Denver has kept teams under 100 in five of its last six, with only Monday’s overtime win over Chicago breaking that spell.
Denver needed OT to beat the Thunder when these sides last met in January but their hosts have only lost once in their last nine. The Nuggets are a tempting 5.00 to extend their streak, take them instead on the handicap of +9 at 1.91.
The Milwaukee Bucks still need a solid spell to cement their play-off spot but inconsistency has been their enemy of late, as it has been for large chunks of the season. They host Portland tonight, looking for only a second win in their last four starts, where we’ll see a fascinating battle between Rookie of the Year favourite Damian Lillard and opposing playmaker Brandon Jennings.
Portland have gotten immense production from Lillard, who has averaged almost 24 points over his last 10 games but his team are still woeful on the road, dropping 13 of their last 15 outside Oregon. That’s why Milwaukee are favoured by -4.5 on the handicap at 1.91.
Best Bet: Take Denver with a +9 handicap against Oklahoma City at 1.91
