LA Lakers - Oklahoma City
So the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t firing head coach Mike D’Antoni, at least not yet. But come the summer, with his team destined for their worst finish since landing in Hollywood, his figures to be the hottest of seats if the plan is to rip it all up to start again.
After the briefest of surges, it’s been back to losing form for LA who have dropped three straight, including a franchise record 48 point-reverse to the neighbouring Clippers three days ago.
And another hammering could be in prospect on Sunday when the Oklahoma City come to town, fresh from averaging 119 points over their last four games.
That figures to pose huge problems for the Lakers who are giving up 107.9 per game this season and a mammoth 136 per night over their last three.
They’ve also lost twice already to OKC with Kevin Durant averaging 37 points and while there’s some value left in going under 225.5 total points at 2.35, back the Thunder to demolish their hosts on the handicap of -15.5.
Dallas – Indiana
Things are looking a little uncertain for the Indiana Pacers with Paul George admitting adjustments are urgently required after three consecutive losses that has put their top seeding in the NBA under threat.
The Pacers’ problem has been defence: after giving up 88 points per night during a 33-7 start, they’ve conceded 98 in a 13-9 run since. And they visit the Dallas Mavericks tonight who held them in check in an 81-73 win last month.
However Indiana is too good to just fall away. They’re a generous 2.35 on the handicap of -4.5 but have a punt under the total points line of 184.5, available at 4.00.
Best bet: Back Oklahoma City on the handicap of -15.5 over the LA Lakers at 2.45
