NBA Betting: Pacers To Grind Out Another Low Scoring Win

Indiana Pacers 1.15, Sacramento Kings 6.00 (BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 00.05 GMT)

The Indiana Pacers continue to head the Eastern Conference standings and while they’re not a crew to watch for thrills and spills, low scoring has become their route to contending for the NBA title.

Normally when a team is just 24th in points acquired at home with an average of 97.3, it would spell disaster. And while everyone in that category below the Pacers is a sub-.500 team, there is no-one close to them in the defensive charts during their 18-1 start at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Visitors to Indianapolis are putting up 82.6 points per game on average, an astonishing 6.5 less than second-place Chicago, while being held to league-lows in field-goal percentage and three-point shooting.

And their efficiency was underlined last Friday when Washington were held to just 66 in yet another blowout, the Pacers’ lowest mark since 2005.

That’s a new challenge for the Sacramento Kings who will bid for their first four-game winning streak in almost three years when they arrive on Tuesday. Over their last three, the Kings have scored at a clip of 116.7 while also giving up 94.0. And much of the credit is going to DeMarcus Cousins, who is making a case for All Star selection with 10 double-doubles in a row.

However Roy Hibbert should be a formidable foe in his way and with the Kings just 4-9 on the road, they’re a huge +10.5 on the handicap at 1.90 and 6.75 to pull off an upset. And while there’s no doubt Sacramento are improving, the Pacers brick wall is tough to crack.

LA Lakers 2.40, Cleveland Cavaliers 1.58 (BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 03.35 GMT)

There’s a battle of two combusting teams when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the free-falling Los Angeles Lakers with both coming off shambolic shows.

The Cavs were annihilated 124-80 by Sacramento last weekend – the NBA’s largest loss this term - with Kyrie Irving’s slide back to mediocrity continuing. While the Lakers were similarly humbled, sliding to a 123-87 defeat to the neighbouring Clippers, their tenth reverse in eleven.

Pau Gasol is a major doubt for LA and that should tip the balance towards the Cavs to claim only a fourth road win. But points, with both struggling, should be at a premium.

Best bet: Go under 193.5 total points in Indiana-Sacramento at 1.96.
