Indiana Pacers 1.28, Toronto Raptors 3.75 (BET and STREAM LIVE on Unibet TV from 00.00 GMT)
The Toronto Raptors are on a roll. The Indiana Pacers never got off it. So Tuesday night promises to be an intriguing clash when two of the Eastern Conference’s top four square off in Indianapolis.
On New Year’s Day, the Commonwealth’s finest took a 95-82 home win as part of a five-game winning streak which drove them into contention. The Pacers hadn’t scored that low a tally all season but they matched it in a victory over Cleveland on Sunday, relying again on their defence.
Indiana still heads the season series with Toronto 2-1 and they’re 16-1 at home but the handicap of +7.5 on the Raptors at 1.92 looks generous, given how the Pacers have stuttered offensively of late.
The hosts, however, are still a class above. The Raps have probably reached their natural ceiling, despite the greater proficiency of Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross. The lack of depth in the East allows average teams to shine and although the vibes are positive in Canada, it’s only in Indiana and Miami that dreams can be taken seriously.
Chicago Bulls 1.95, Phoenix Suns 1.87 (BET and STREAM LIVE on Unibet TV from 01.00 GMT)
It’s official – the Chicago Bulls have written off the season. Two-time All Star Luol Deng has been traded away to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Andrew Bynum (who’ll be immediately dumped) and a bunch of draft assets. Losing one of the league’s best defensive players can only hurt, no matter how efficient their system is but they’ll also miss some of the offense brought by the Great Britain international.
The post-Deng era begins when the Phoenix Suns come to the Windy City tonight with the visitors 17-4 this season when scoring over 100 points. For Bulls fans, the misery starts now.
Best bet: Go over 186.5 total points in Indiana-Toronto at 1.88.
