NBA Betting: Phoenix to rise above Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs arrested a dip in form with a grafted win over Memphis on Thursday to keep pace with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the top of the NBA’s Western Conference.

They can draw level with their rivals with a third victory of the season over Phoenix on Saturday but the Suns have plenty of incentives as they try to sneak into the play-off places as we head into the last stretch of the regular season.

The ageless Steve Nash has kept his side running even in the absence of fellow veteran Grant Hill, illustrating his continued impact by grabbing 18 points and 10 assists in Friday’s impressive victory at Houston.

San Antonio won 107-100 when these teams squared off last month and by 13 earlier in the season. But it’s worth a punt on Phoenix at +9 at odds of 1.91, and on going over the points total of 208.5, as these two high scoring squads square off.

By contrast, Indiana at Milwaukee doesn’t figure to see the scoreboard melt down, despite the Pacers elevated offensive output during their impressive burst of 8 wins from their last 10.

Milwaukee has taken 14 wins from their last 20, although only one victory was against a play-off team. So take Indiana to come up trumps on the road at 3, available at 1.91.

Elsewhere, the Eurocup Final Four takes place this weekend with Khimky Moscow enjoying both home advantage and the tag of favourites at odds of 1.90.

Their Saturday semi-final is an all-Russian affair against Spartak St. Petersburg, who have lost twice to their rivals in domestic competition this season. But Spartak is an excellent defensive team and the handicap on Spartak at +6 at the end of the third quarter looks great value.

The other semi pits Valencia against Lietuvos Rytas with the Lithuanians dogged by a heavy schedule and fitness doubts over Lawrence Roberts. However, in Jonas Valanciunas, Lietuvos has arguably the best player on show. It’s worth a punt on them to lift the Eurocup on Sunday at a generous 5.5.

Bet of the Day:  Bet on Phoenix with +9 over San Antonio at 1.91.
