Phoenix-San Antonio - BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 02.05
Patty Mills has done a great job of filling the void left by Tony Parker in the San Antonio Spurs lineup but there are no ready-made replacements for Tim Duncan or Kawhi Leonard.
And while Duncan is expected back for Friday's trip to the Phoenix Suns, Leonard is still not deemed ready to return to the roster as the Spurs look to make a stretch run towards the NBA play-offs.
They could use his defensive presence, perhaps a factor in trading Nando de Colo to Toronto for Austin Daye. Over their last 10, they’ve given up an average of 101.8, four more than their season mark.
Even though that’s coincided with a 7-3 stretch, including three straight victories, it’s not the type of basketball they’ll need to get back to the NBA Finals and make good on their current odds of 12.00 for the title.
Phoenix are already over-achieving, despite losing twice already to San Antonio this season, but they’re good value on the handicap of -1.5 at 2.20 here. And with both sides putting up big numbers, look over the total points line of 211.5 at 2.15.
Charlotte-New Orleans - BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 00.05
With the race to sneak into the play-offs in the East hotting up, the Charlotte Bobcats are feeling the heat in eighth spot as they try to hold on.
Charlotte, being Charlotte, are likely to get dizzy while sitting at such a lofty height. The soon-to-be Hornets have only ever reached the post-season once but they take a healthy lead over Detroit into Friday’s home clash with the New Orleans Pelicans.
The used-to-be-Hornets have won the last four meetings between the teams but they’ve lost three of their last four with their own play-off chances in the West looking increasingly futile.
The Bobcats – who are -5.5 on the handicap at 2.25 - made a solid trade in acquiring Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour ahead of the deadline which should boost an offense averaging just 95.3 points per game. And if they suit up in time, look over the total points line of 199.5 at 3.00.
Best bet: Take Phoenix on the handicap of -1.5 over San Antonio at 2.20
