Celtics v Hawks
Although the Atlanta Hawks escaped elimination with a tight 87-86 win on Tuesday, they’ve now got to go to Boston and attempt to derail the Celtics on their home floor.
Down 3-2 in the series, Atlanta lost both on their previous trips to Beantown including a 101-79 blowout in Game 4.
Having Al Horford and Josh Smith has given the Hawks a glimmer of hope.
Boston though have been rock solid at the Garden this season and with Paul Pierce determined to shake off a knee injury, they’re likely to close this one out. The Celtics are 1.38 favourites but with only one game in the series so far decided by more than 10 points, it’s worth a punt on Atlanta on the handicap at +6.5 at 1.91.
Nuggets v Lakers
The Denver Nuggets pulled back from the brink of starting their summer vacation with a 102-99 win in Los Angeles on Tuesday and now they get the chance to force a Game 7 against the Lakers back at the Pepsi Center.
It’s likely to be the same strategy: run and gun. High scoring offers Denver their best hope of survival. But after doing a poor job of halting their rivals in their tracks last time, it’s likely the Lakers, priced at 2.06 to win, will make some adjustments. So go under the total points line of 197.5.
76ers v Bulls
The Philadelphia 76ers get the chance to complete their upset of the top-seeded Chicago Bulls on their home floor. But the injury-decimated Bulls finally produced some hallmark defence in Game 5 to grind out a 77-69 win that prolonged this match-up.
That’s probably their only hope tonight, with Taj Gibson potentially added to their casualty list. But they’re a generous 2.50 to force a deciding game back in Chicago and it’s worth a punt on the total points staying under 169.0 at 1.91.
Bet of the Day: Go under 197.5 total points at 1.91 in Lakers-Nuggets.
