Two of the best in the West meet in San Antonio as the Spurs take on the Los Angeles Clippers. When they met recently in Los Angeles, the Clippers thrashed the Spurs by 22 points, and there's no doubt San Antonio will have revenge on their minds this evening.
This will be only the second game the Clippers have played outside of Staples Center and if you want to be a good play-off team, you have to win on the road. Tonight is the first of four in six nights on the road, so we'll soon get an indication of how good the Clippers really are.
The Spurs' trio of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili combined for 23 points in the last meeting and you can't see that happening again, especially at home. Spurs to win at 1.57, but if that doesn't appeal then consider the Spurs with a -4.5 handicap at 1.91.
The team the Spurs and Clippers are chasing is the Memphis Grizzlies, who tonight host the slumping Denver Nuggets. While other teams have slipped up, Memphis keep on winning and should continue to do given their favourable pre-Christmas schedule.
The best on offer for Memphis is 1.31 for a win in regulation. Dallas Mavericks against Golden State Warriors should be a home win, so if 1.45 for a win in regulation doesn't appeal, consider Dallas with a -6.0 handicap at 1.91.
Over in the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee Bucks will look to keep their perfect road record intact when they head to Charlotte. With the Bucks leading the Central division and about to embark on a very difficult run of games, this is one they really need to win to keep distance between them and Chicago.
The Bobcats continue to improve and the proof is that they are only three wins from equalling the total wins (seven) they achieved last season. They are a good team at home and have a chance of pulling off an upset win (2.70), but Milwaukee should prevail.
Bet of the day: Milwaukee Bucks to beat Charlotte in regulation, at 1.51.
