The Warriors average 105.1 in Oakland and are a good bet to outscore the Denver Nuggets again, says Unibet columnist Mark Woods...
Golden State Warriors 1.30, Denver Nuggets 3.50 (starts around 03.35 GMT)
The Golden State Warriors had the Denver Nuggets’ number in last season’s NBA Playoffs and once again when the teams met last month. When the Western rivals match up once more on Wednesday, it could be another tricky test for the men from Mile City as they try to maintain their recent push.
The Nuggets were doing so well, with a five-game winning streak, until they sustained a surprise reverse at Utah on Monday. But it’s been an impressive turnaround in 2014 with Brian Shaw seeing his side respond to a run of eight consecutive losses with a surge above .500.
They were fortunate to benefit from an extended home stand. Now they continue on the road where they’re just 8-10 but Denver is a rarity, averaging 0.1 more points away from their own court with 102.7 per game.
The Warriors average 105.1 in Oakland where they’re 12-4 and they will benefit from a five-day break since a victory over Boston made it ten victories from their last eleven.
The total points line is 212.5 and although both teams have improved their defence lately, it’s 1.88 that they combine for over that mark. However with the Nuggets improvement, it’s worth a punt on a generous handicap of +6.5.
Washington Wizards 3.05, Miami Heat 1.38 – BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 00.05 GMT
The Miami Heat will bid to avoid a third loss in a row when they travel to the Washington Wizards and with Dwyane Wade and Shane Battier slated to return, the champions can get the lift they require.
They’re -5.5 on the handicap, available at 1.83, with the Wizards only emerging on top in one of their last eight games in DC. However Miami’s defence has slipped in recent weeks so don’t rule out going above the total points line here.
Best bet: Take Denver over Golden State on the handicap of +6.5.
