It’s do or die time for a number of teams in the race for the NBA play-offs and for the Phoenix Suns, holding off Houston for the eighth seed in the Western Conference will be a scrap to the finish over the last week of the regular season.
They host Oklahoma City on Thursday night in what could be a dress rehearsal for the first round of the post-season but it doesn’t get much easier for the Suns beyond this with all five of their remaining foes boasting winning records.
Quelling the Thunder will be a tough ask after two losses to the Northwest Division champions already this term. But OKC are coming off a terrible display against the LA Clippers and a slump that has seen them go 5-5 over the last 10 games.
Given the high stakes, take Phoenix at +3.5 points (available at 1.91) and go over the total points line of 207.5.
There’s also plenty on the table in the game of Texas Hold’em in Dallas where the Rockets will try to loosen the Mavericks grip on seventh place in the West. The reigning champions have sustained two brutal overtime losses in succession and they now have a tough run of three games in four nights.
Fatigue is clearly a factor but after a night off, they’ll want to take advantage when Houston come calling. The Rockets have imploded with four consecutive defeats, giving up 105.3 points per game in that stretch. Dallas at -4.5 should be a safe bet but look at going over the line of 192.0 points, even if it heads to OT.
Bet of the Day: Go over 207.5 points in Phoenix – Oklahoma City.
