Tied at 1-1, the Eastern Conference finals head over to New Jersey for Game 3 between the Devils and Rangers. New York had the chance to take a commanding advantage in Game 2 but in the end it was a David Clarkson who got his sizable frame in front of the net to score a hugely important winner for New Jersey on Wednesday. Often in the playoffs you will see unsung heroes like Clarkson come to the fore and it will take a few more efforts like his to get one of these teams in to the Stanley Cup finals.
New York are still the more fancied team to go through at 1.68 but they will need to match the Devils' effort of picking up a road win as losing consecutive games over the next couple of days will see them put in to deep trouble. New Jersey have only lost once at home during these playoffs and know that winning their three home games to come would be enough to see them progress.
All this means each team will look to be slightly more positive to go out and get goals. So far they have both taken sensible approaches without being too attacking, but expect Game 3 to be more open.
Ahead of this evening New Jersey are slight favourites to go 2-1 up at 2.45, while New York are just behind at 2.65. There's a significant chance this game could go to overtime with the teams seemingly evenly matched, so there is good value at 3.65 for a tie after three periods.
Best Bet: More than 4.5 total goals at 1.88
