There are signs of recovery for the underperforming Philadelphia Flyers ,after two straight wins.
Florida are their opponents at Wells Fargo Center tonight, a team they smoked 7-1 earlier in the season.
Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has been much maligned in recent times, but he's probably been the Flyers' best player throughout their recent losses, but the offense to back him up just hasn't been there.
On face value these two clubs are in similar situations, but Florida have the benefit of a much easier schedule coming from a weaker division. At odds of 2.00, a Philly win looks likely and taking on the -1.5 handicap at 2.75 is a good option.
Winnipeg are keeping pace in the Southeast, despite a couple of capitulations in the last week. They got things back on track with an overtime victory over Florida in the comfort of the MTS Centre.
That is the venue for tonight's contest with Toronto, though the Maple Leafs would probably prefer that, having thrived on the road so far. Take Toronto here, they are well valued for the win at 2.90.
Whilst Chicago have taken control of the Central Division, their most apparent challengers St Louis, have surprisingly dropped two in a row.
Detroit face the same predicament, but can call upon a victory in a meeting with the Blues less than a week ago.
The Wings have a considerable number of their depth players ruled out injured, whilst St Louis' starting goalie Jaroslav Halak is a continued major absentee for them. Keep faith with the Blues to turn it around at 1.95 as they're always worth backing on home ice.
Best Bet: Philadelphia Flyers with -1.5 goal handicap at 2.75
