Some intriguing games tonight as the run to the Stanley Cup finals begins in earnest. Three of the eight best-of-seven game series begin tonight and it promises to throw up some intense encounters.
Perhaps the most difficult match-up to call is between the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Red Wings. They met on six occasions during the regular season with each team coming out on top three times, however Nashville come in to this one with momentum, having sealed home ice advantage and on the back of three straight wins. They are at 2.30 to win tonight and 5.25 to win the series in seven games
It'll be a ferocious atmosphere inside the Consol Energy Arena too as the Pittsburgh Penguins face-off against huge rivals the Philadelphia Flyers. The Pens seized the upper hand on Saturday night when they won comfortably and will look to build upon that and take the lead in the series. When these two play you can almost guarantee goals, an average of seven in their regular season games, there are odds of 1.85 on over 5.5 total goals tonight.
Jaromir Jagr is a Penguins legend, but seems to have it in for his former side as a member of Flyers, with four goals in six against them this season. He can be backed at 3.50 to score.
The final game of the night sees the Vancouver Canucks host the Los Angeles Kings, where the top seeded 'Nucks start as big favourites. Having lost to Boston in the finals last year, they are looking to go one better this time around and could have too much fire power for LA. They are 1.95 to win in regulation time.
Best Bet: Over 5.5 total goals in Pittsburgh v Philadelphia at 1.85.
