NHL Betting: Back Toronto to blunt the Sabres

The Toronto Maple Leafs make the 100 mile trip across the border to Buffalo looking to build on last night's victory over Tampa and put this month's stutter behind them.

Maple Leafs fans have some painful memories over the last eight years of failing to make the post-season from similar positions, though I reckon they are resilient enough to see it through this time.

Buffalo aren't out of it yet, as their coaching change has paid dividends. Ron Rolston has instilled a new confidence in the Sabres, to see tight games through that they might previously have lost.

Most of those results have come on the road though and Toronto have exploited their indifferent home form already. Back the Leafs at 2.80.

Boston enter tonight's meeting with the Ottawa Senators having left consecutive games empty handed for the first time, but considering their lofty position there's no great cause for concern for the Bruins.

Ottawa have their own three game win streak going and are right on it offensively. They deserve credit for that, as it was their defence lifting them earlier in the season.

I've tipped the Senators for the upset on both occasions they've met so far and it's not happened. That's not about to change though as this is perhaps an even better chance to end the Bruins' dominance of this fixture. Looking at that and the fact Boston are short at 2.05,  take Ottawa including overtime at 2.22.

One team that will be extremely glad to get back on home ice are the Phoenix Coyotes, they return to the Jobing.com Arena after a four game road trip that saw them pick up a single point and score just two goals.

Their welcoming party are the Vancouver Canucks who haven't excelled recently either, but scooped a vital victory against St Louis last time out. Don't expect too many powerplay goals from these sides, or indeed a high scoring game. Fewer than 4.5 total goals gives 2.16.

With the Coyotes wavering I also think Vancouver will be good value for the win starting at 2.50.

Best Bet: Toronto Maple Leafs to win at 2.80
