NHL Betting: Blackhawks and Jets to serve up goal feast

Chicago Blackhawks vs Winnipeg Jets

With a 5-1 thumping from Saturday fresh in their minds, Winnipeg must once again go up against Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews took control in the second and laid bare the problems the Jets are having on the back end.

Carrying the responsibility of being a starting goaltender on a team struggling to give you quality protection is extremely difficult, however you wouldn't say Ondrej Pavelec is standing out in the same way many other goalies under similar stresses are finding a way to.

Take a repeat of over 5.5 goals at 1.95 seeing as the -2.5 handicap for Chicago is set as low as 3.10, for me the Jets aren't out of the question at 3.20 including overtime either.

Colorado Avalanche vs Nashville Predators

Back in the first week of October the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Nashville Predators 3-1 to a few glances and predictions that their positive start won't last. Yet a month later they are top of the NHL and rolling a six game win streak.

It's middle of the road stuff for Nashville, meanwhile. David Legwand and Patrik Hornqvist have been the Preds' offensive saviours with a combined nine points over the last two games, last time out a 4-3 success over LA was probably their best win of this young season.

They are mending their record well from a below par opening but most of that good work has come at Bridgestone Arena rather than out on the road. Fourteen of Nashville's 16 points have come when they've managed to score the first goal, and that surely becomes even more important tonight with the speed and intensity that the Avalanche have been bringing has meant they've got on the board first in 10 of their thirteen games and won all of them.

It's tough to go against Colorado at this stage but if you're not a fan of the short odds I'd say Nashville have a solid chance to take this one through to overtime at the very least, you can get the regulation tie at 4.10.

Best Bet: Over 5.5 total goals in Chicago versus Winnipeg at 1.95.
