NHL Betting: Blackhawks and Red Wings to fly past goal total

One place in the final four remains undecided. In Game 7 at the United Center tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings will battle for that spot and the right to face the LA Kings.

Chicago have won the last two games to complete a commendable comeback. They have the momentum but that might not be as significant as you'd think.

This is now the 49th time in NHL history a team has pulled it back from 3-1 down in a series. Believe it or not, but that side has gone on to win Game 7 exactly 50% of the time. After the freedom of being the underdogs, the Blackhawks will also have to contend with the pressure being back on them.

The Red Wings were the better team through the first two periods on two days ago but were caught napping by Chicago's quick start to the final frame.

Michal Handzus popped up for the tying goal early on in the third. The Hawks' second line center is many things but you could not call him a scorer,  as it was only his third strike in 50 games this year.

Marian Hossa is my tip to be a hero tonight for Chicago at 2.80 to score. The Slovak has an impressive record of 21 points in 21 play-off elimination games.

One simple facet of the game that Detroit have performed very well, has been face-offs - digging them out of many tricky situations in their own zone.

I'm sure that Mike Babcock will want his team to keep it simple, first getting the puck deep and progressing from there. Their all-European third line of Andersson, Brunner and Nyquist have had a great series and they may just be the ones to bring the energy the Red Wings need.

Like Game 6 on Monday, there should be goals. Take on over 5.5 total at 2.50.

The last encounter was the only meeting of the series to not be won by at least a two goal margin, but I think it will be close once again. I'm expecting the Blackhawks to have just about enough to get the win, but the Red Wings are great value for the upset at 4.25.

Best Bet: Over 5.5 total goals between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings at 2.50
