The Stanley Cup is in town and by the end of the night we could see the Chicago Blackhawks raising the historic trophy. They possess a 3-2 lead in the series and will have two shots at that all-important fourth win.
Playing on the road tonight at TD Garden and the knowledge of another guaranteed opportunity, gives them a relative amount of freedom to really go for it.
Boston's job tonight is to force a Game 7 on Wednesday. When named Champions in 2011, the Bruins were in this exact position and you can get 3.80 on them managing to take the next two games.
Patrick Kane scored two goals and generally inspired Chicago to the victory on Saturday. Although the former No. 1 pick has had a patchy play-offs, his speed and skill separate him from any player on either roster.
Their star power may have been the difference maker but collectively the Hawks were superb, applying pressure and forcing turnovers without having to take Boston on in the hitting game. Another of Chicago's main men, Patrick Sharp, is the only man with 10 goals over the entire post-season and an excellent choice to score tonight at 3.80.
There's question marks over the health of a leading centre on both sides, though clear information on Patrice Bergeron and Jonathan Toews has been hard to find.
Leading scorer in the series Bergeron, would be a huge loss to the Bruins. He's a real doubt, even though the perceived moment the injury occurred looked totally innocuous.
Chicago captain Toews took a major hit from Johnny Boychuk and didn't log any ice time in the third period, but encouragingly returned to the bench to support his team. If only one of them makes it tonight, that's a real advantage to the opposition. In such a massive game, missing your most complete player is obviously going to have a major effect.
Neutrals will no doubt be hoping for a deciding contest. The Bruins have seen the momentum taken away from them and have to step it up at both ends of the ice. In four of the last five years the winning team has completed the job, so it's not necessarily a major factor and I think the value is with Chicago tonight.
