NHL Betting: Blue Jackets To Wrap Up Win vs The Hurricanes

The Columbus Blue Jackets will overcome the handicap when they host Carolina, writes Mike Fuller...

Carolina Hurricanes 3.45, the Tie 3.95, Columbus Blue Jackets 1.90 – BET and WATCH live on Unibet TV from 23.05 GMT

Only San Jose and Chicago have bested the Blue Jackets this month and that solid form means they should be able to secure a routine win against an ailing Carolina.

It's one win in eight on the road for the Hurricanes and their hopes of extending their season are slipping, they need a quick turnaround otherwise the gap to teams like Columbus will become insurmountable in the relatively short amount of time left.

Chief culprit for the lack of scoring is their 29th ranked powerplay and of late when their opponents have scored more than twice they've rarely had success, Columbus averaging over four goals in the last six inside Nationwide Arena means the Canes might have to buck that trend to escape with anything.

I can't see it happening so take the Jackets to cruise to the points.

Nashville Predators 2.55, the Tie 3.70, Edmonton Oilers 2.45 – BET and WATCH live on Unibet TV from 01.35 GMT

Beyond the Oilers and also Calgary it seems likely that Nashville will be next to drop out of the race in the West but in the last eight days they battled to three big road wins only to be halted by St Louis at the weekend.

Tonight's opponents were the last to beat them on the road in regulation back in late January, that's been invaluable when at home in the last five games they've failed to get more than a single tally.

It also wasn't the first time Edmonton had defeated them this season and they make up two of their seven victories by three goals or more, struggling to handle the Oilers' star names where many have succeeded a real embodiment of the Predators' lack of control within games.

Without Ben Scrivens the situation would surely be worse for Edmonton as to get a win since donning the jersey he's had to produce a save percentage of at least .940 on the night, that's higher than the average of any goalie who's played more and shouldn't be repeatedly expected of one to be successful. Seeing as the odds are almost split I'll take the Oilers at 2.45 as they have shown they're willing to spoil someone's hopes in their remaining 13 outings.

Best Bet: Columbus Blue Jackets to overcome -1.5 handicap at 2.65.
