NHL Betting: Blues likely to see off the wily Coyotes

Only one game on the penultimate night of the NHL regular season as the St Louis Blues host the Phoenix Coyotes. There is a good chance that these two teams could face each other in the first round of the play-offs so expect a competitive game. The Blues have been a revelation this year and remain in the hunt to finish at the top of the Western Conference, they appointed Ken Hitchcock as their new head coach early in the season and it has paid huge dividends.

Meanwhile the Coyotes will also be pleased with their season. They are now officially in the play-offs after last night’s results and whilst few would be tipping them to go all the way to the Stanley Cup they have the potential to upset someone. They come into this game with momentum, Goalie Mike Smith has personally stopped 157 straight shots and they've won three in a row.

That aside the Blues are still big favourites for this, they have the best home record in the league and have beaten Phoenix on each occasion they have met so far; odds of 1.95 represents good value.

On top of that, a high scoring game is unlikely considering the offensive capabilities of these two sides and the form of their goaltenders; under 4.5 goals is at 1.88.

Of the player specials being offered, David Backes is a clutch player for St Louis and they will be looking for a big performance from him; he is 2.70 to score at least one goal.

Best Bet: St Louis Blues to win in regulation at 1.85.
