Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs
Always a fun encounter between heated rivals that stretch back as long as the NHL's existence and that are still now jostling for position in the Atlantic.
This fixture doesn't come at a good time for the men wearing blue either even though they are riding back to back wins as the streaking Bruins are on a roll of five straight taking them above the Leafs in the standings.
Whilst they haven't beaten particularly strong clubs during this run the success of their offence is bound to breed confidence and the between the legs goal scored by Seth Griffith just showed outrageous poise.
Toronto have allowed at least three goals in their last four outings and even though results have been good it's just unsustainable considering the disparity in shots they tend to give up, the same statistic saw them fall away dramatically to miss the postseason last year.
It seems like they always manage to come through against the Leafs so even as a favoured road side I'll back Boston to keep up their dominance.
Los Angeles Kings at Anaheim Ducks
Another great contest will be happening out on the West Coast tonight and this contest sets the tone for the four to follow later in the season plus the added factor of LA's Game 7 playoff victory in May.
Anaheim's home record has taken a hit in the past week with three consecutive overtime/shootout losses but it just goes to show how difficult it is to take a regulation victory from Honda Center when this is considered a bad stretch.
At times they've been operating without Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry with the latter remaining sidelined along with key defender Francois Beauchemin because of a virus infiltrating their camp.
LA just keep rumbling along as they do so well and the line of Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson continues to be statistically the most dominant in the league but the reinforcements are still falling a little short.
Although the Ducks have dominated recent regular season matchups they're a little down on staff so I'd take a look at the tie for and the Kings including overtime at 2.08.
Best Bet: Boston Bruins to win at 2.30
